Wonderful social documentary featuring photography and audio stories by Simon Thurlow in Great Ayton
This week I headed back to the Great Ayton Allotments in North Yorkshire. In 2024 I started documenting what the allotments means to the community, when its future looked uncertain, after the land on which the allotments sit was designated for sale. The Allotment Association developed a fundraising group to raise £50.000, which would allow them with help of the parish council, to apply for larger grants to hopefully purchase the land.
