Make a Meaningful Difference!
We’re currently welcoming new volunteers to join our West Leeds Befriender Service. Through weekly check-ins and practical support, we’re tackling isolation and helping individuals feel more connected, confident, and empowered.
What We Offer to the Community:
We run a variety of groups and activities designed to bring people together and reduce feelings of loneliness. Here’s how we support our participants:
-
Friendship Calls: A friendly weekly check in with the same volunteer, building trust and genuine connection over time.
-
Practical Support: Feeling nervous about attending a group or appointment? Our befrienders can accompany you, so you never have to go alone.
-
Signposting and Advocacy: Need help navigating services? Our volunteers can guide you toward support for issues like debt, housing, utility bills, and mental health.

Raising funds for our Man About Town Group
We are fundraising to support isolated men who are at risk of suicide. Our work transforms the lives of the men we meet, offering a supportive space our motto is is 'It's Good To Talk, It's Great to Listen'. Our groups meet several times a week and we are in need of funds to continue, build and reach even more men. Please help this important work, thank you.
